Grapa.ws... Dot_double-u_ess?
Well... To be perfectly honest, even though we love Barcelona, we’d prefer to be working in Samoa, next to the sea (even closer to the sea that we are now )), under a palm tree, with a cool glass of papaya juice in hand. But one day we realized that Internet connections on the island were not the fastest, so, in the end, after a heated, heart-breaking internal debate, we gave up the idea of moving. Yet, as a sort of consolation prize, we registered our website with the domain: ws. That’s right, for Western Samoa, our first big dream.

We are interactive, because an interface is like life itself and life itself is a game, because we always are what we do and not what we see - we cannot be satisfied with just looking! -, because we have something to say, because we want to say it and we want to be heard, because we don’t want to have our mouths gagged or our ears covered, because we question all the messages that have been given to us, because we won’t let ourselves be fooled, because we were taught to think and not to blindly obey or believe what we have been told.

Ah, and we have some very real people that we love, quite a few friends and colleagues, although some - perhaps a little envious of our buzzing social life - might call them virtual...

We are not an advertising agency, or a communications agency, or a graphic, Internet, or multimedia design studio. Neither are we a production company or technological consulting company. No way! Because we are much more that all that. We are disgustingly interactive, get it?!

OK, our secret formula is now no longer so secret, but that’s OK, because it’s kind of an open source thing: it’s The Feel-link.
Feel-link is a methodology based on tangibles (that is to say, palpable, visible, perceptible elements…, in short, lots of hard work) and, like the name implies, is the connection of “feel” with “link”. Feel-link is the emotional connection we have with each new project. A feeling that is as necessary for us as for our clients and the very success of each project. With feel-link, each project becomes our own… and our pulses start racing as fast as our client’s :-)

Another secret: we do not have a commercial department. We don’t need one. Nobody is going out to look for new clients on the street, at trade fairs or in bars. Nevertheless, we always seem to find them. Because, right from the start, in February 2000, when Edgar and Ferran founded Grapa while still in college, our projects (and also our clients, really) are our spokespersons.
And, in the meantime, we have been dedicated to working as well as we can in the area we know best: the world of interactivity. That’s how we are: work alone is not enough; we need to work well and in doing something we love. If not, feel-link would not be possible: it would be just talk.
And now there are nine of us on the team who feel this passion: creatives, strategists, copywriters, graphic designers, interactive designers, programmers and... well, no, we don’t have a receptionist.

Each project is unique, and has to be approached as such. At grapa.ws we don’t know any sure-fire recipes for success and we’re allergic to one-size-fits-all solutions. We like to stop and think before getting down to work. "How we can we make it better?" is our favorite phrase.
We pay attention to everything, and we easily adapt to the changes we perceive in the environment. We move and observe. We never hide. Assembly-lines are for manufacturing.

We are what we do, and with the passing of time (which puts everything in its place) we are nothing more than the things we have done. And at grapa.ws we look back with a sense of pride. But we keep dreaming about that beach in Western Samoa where we would work (or not...) at ease, under a palm tree. We’re dreaming, yes. And we know that it is a dream because, invariably, when we wake up, instead of papaya juice in hand, we are holding a mouse. Or, with luck, a cold cup of coffee. But you’ll see, someday we all will board the flight that lasts 49 hours and 20 minutes and costs 7.825,60 euros per person (tax included)! Surely, time will put us in our place, but, please, let it be Western Samoa !

But, for the time being, we are still here.
